What does the legislation topic actually cover?
Proposed and enacted legislation, parliamentary proceedings and regulatory instruments. Procedural coverage is thin in most markets and detailed in a few, which makes outlet choice unusually consequential.
How do I filter news to legislation?
Pass topic=LEGISLATION on /search or /stories. Pair with a country filter always — legislative process is inherently national and an unscoped query mixes incomparable systems. Trade and specialist press covers committee stages that general press picks up only at final passage.

Monitoring it over time
Following a bill requires the specialist press, and finding it requires an outlet constraint because volume ranking buries low-frequency specialist titles under general coverage. Build the outlet set once per policy area and reuse it; the same handful of publications cover each sector's legislative process across years. Committee and consultation stages carry almost all of the substance and almost none of the volume, which inverts the usual relationship between the two. A bill is covered heavily when introduced and when passed, and the amendments that decide what it does are reported in between by a small number of specialist and parliamentary outlets.
